About Paul

Paul Kukubo is a consultant and venture investor in the African ICT sector with over 20 years’ experience as an entrepreneur, public and private sector leader . He holds a Global MBA from United States International University (USIU-Africa) and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Sociology from University of Nairobi. Currently Managing Partner of Ghalas Technology Ltd, a technology advisory firm based in Nairobi and Pretoria, working on supporting organizations with digital and blockchain strategy formulation.  Paul is also a partner with Ngazini Ventures (PTY) SA Ltd. a professional advisory firm, specializing in professional venture advisor, advisory services and venture sourcing matching firm based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Currently sits on the Kenya’s Coffee Sub Sector Implementation Reforms established by HE President Uhuru Kenyatta to spearhead reforms in the Coffee value chain with a focus on individual farmer benefit. Between 2007 and 2013, Paul was CEO of the previously headed the Kenya ICT Board (now the Kenya ICT Authority), then newly established organization responsible for the implementation of Kenya’s Information and Communication Technology agenda under the Ministry of ICT. This included establishing Kenya as an leading ICT destination in Africa, working to develop the ICT ecosystem of innovation and investors and supporting major egovernment programs. Paul served as CEO of the newly established East Africa Exchange based in Kigali Rwanda. Paul has also served as independent director of the Communications Authority, Kenya’s ICT regulator and as independent board member of BRCK Inc, a leading technology firm innovating and providing affordable connectivity to low income communities in Kenya and Rwanda.
